She has a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Barcelona (UB), with a thesis titled 'Biology and ecology of wild boar (Sus scrofa L. 1758) in two populations in the northeast of the Iberian Peninsula. Application to management".

She is an expert in fauna management, particularly in reducing the impact of infrastructure on wildlife and managing populations of wild boar and cervids. She has led numerous projects on these topics, and has focused in particular on monitoring and mitigating the impact of roads, railways and canals on vertebrate populations. She is part of the Vertebrate Ecology Quality Research Group, which is linked to the UB's Department of Animal Biology.

She has coauthored many books, articles in scientific journals, and book chapters, notably, the handbook 'Wildlife and Traffic', which was published in English in 2003 and translated into Spanish in 2005. She has also coauthored other handbooks, including technical instructions for constructing wildlife passages and restoring ecological connectivity in spaces affected by infrastructure, and for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of measures implemented to reduce impacts. She has presented papers at conferences worldwide and has given lectures in countries such as France, Ireland, Hungary, Holland, Italy and Portugal.

She coordinated the Spanish team's work on the European project for technological and scientific exchange COST 341 Action: Habitat fragmentation due to transportation infrastructure (1999-2003). She is the technical secretary of the working party formed by the Ministry of the Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs, which gives continuity to the European project. It's also integrated into the network Infra Eco Network Europe (Iene), which has been coordinator for the Spanish government until 2008 and currently operates in the Election Commitee entity based in Sweden..
